Oil is not only bad for our economy but it isn't going to stay cheap forever. A barrel of oil use to be $9.50 whereas, now it's at $30 a barrel. The price has only been steadily raising. Our nation depends of foreign oil. This causes conflicts, and warfare between other nations. If we were to convert over we could completely cut our dependency for foreign oil, and our raising oil prices. It maybe costly to begin with but we need to look into the future. After we have set up power grids, and have our renewable energy sources ready, we will be completely efficient and it will be cost free after.

Natural Resources

Should we change the way we use non-renewable resources? We should focus on our renewable resources such as sunlight, air, wind, etc., they are continuously available and their quantity is not affected by human consumption. The way we are using our non-renewable resources is proven that it is effecting our economy in a bad way, maybe the cause of global climate change. Natural resources such as coal, petroleum, oil and natural gas take thousands of years to form naturally and cannot be replaced as fast as they are being used. Eventually natural resources will become too costly to harvest and we will need to find other sources of energy. The main energy sources used by humans are non-renewable because they are cheap to produce.
